Sorry to be off topic, but has anyone seen DJ today? He was supposed to go visit his grandparents, and he never got there. He’s not at the garage with Brian, and he isn’t at the diner. I don’t know where the heck he’s gone off to, but he’s in for a world of hurt if he doesn’t check in soon.
I’ll give Fred a heads up to be on the lookout–you know how everybody reports to him about what everybody else is doing, so if he’s heard, maybe he can give you a shout.
Ive been outside most of the day – no sign of him on my street. Jeannette Thompson is a client of mine so maybe I’ll call over there on some pretense, see if I can find out if their boys are at home.
Any word yet? I was inside most of the day with two sick girls.
Julia was out running errands though and she says she didn’t see him.
Everyone can relax, in that I heard that DJ has been found and he’s not injured. More than that, it’s not my place to say.
Thanks everyone for your help and concern. The individual in question has been grounded for the rest of his life. (Kidding. Kind of.) He is also available for odd jobs to make up for his poor judgment. So far he’s cleaning out Maddie’s gutters, and painting Etta’s back room. Anyone else have a job, let me know. He’s got plenty of free time without a social schedule to distract him.
My mom and I need some help rearranging some furniture in my house to make it more accessible for my wheelchair. It’s too heavy of a job for my mom alone. Do you think DJ could come over for a few hours in the evening or over the weekend to give us a hand?
And I’m really glad he’s ultimately okay! (Though I’m sure in his opinion, with is punishment and all, he doesn’t think so. heh)
You got it Hannah. Make sure you give him a dust rag too.
Well, much as I hate to take advantage of the young man’s indiscretion, I do have a vegetable garden to prepare for spring (hooray for spring!) and it would sure save time to have a strong back out there to help me. No big rush, but I’d like to get it done in the next couple of weeks.
MeelieSue, how about I send him over after school on Friday? He can bring some tools, too. Let me know if you need anything. And don’t forget, you promised me the recipe for those wonderful beans you brought to the book group. Brian is still talking about that dish!
MeelieSue, I can bring my tiller over and mix up that garden real quick. The wife says she’ll lend me out if you’ll share a few of your gardening tips with her. I think she’s jealous.
Thank you, Lucas, that’s kind of you. I’d be happy to share my gardening tips, such as they are, for little to no physical labor in return! We’ve got so much land up here on this big hill… actually, if anyone else wants to plant a patch, let me know. I’m sure Ida May wouldn’t mind, if you don’t mind her telling you what Sweetsweet and Miss Bittything (or Goofer or Butterball or Sir Pukesalot and so on) have gotten into lately.
Offering to let people grow their gardens in my back yard. Gosh, I don’t know what’s gotten into me lately. Are you happy, Ms. Ruby Wood??
